I have spent every summer since I was ten years old with my father in London. Every summer, since I was ten years old, has been uneventful and boring.

4. I am in love with Dante Giliberti, who just happens to be the beautiful, sophisticated son of the Prime Minister of a Mediterranean paradise.
5. See number four above. Because it brings with it a whole slew of problems and I’ve learned something from every one of them.

Let’s start with the fact that Dante’s world is five light-years away from mine. He goes to black-tie functions and knows the Prime Minister of England on a first name basis. I was born and raised on a farm in Kansas and wear cut-off jeans paired with cowboy boots. See the difference?

But hearts don’t care about differences. Hearts want what they want. And mine just wants to be Dante’s girl.

My heart just might be crazy. 

For some strange reason I didn't know this was on netgalley. When I saw that it was I jumped all over it.

Doesn't this one sound awesome? Pirates, war criminals and monsters, oh my. I've got a good feeling about this one, guys.

This particular assignment is pretty enjoyable... that is, until Ciel’s island resort bungalow is blown to smithereens and her client’s about-to-be-fiancé is snatched by modern-day Vikings. For some reason, Ciel begins to suspect that getting the ring is going to be a tad more difficult than originally anticipated.

Going from romance to rescue requires some serious gear-shifting, as well as a little backup. Her best friend, Billy, and Mark, the CIA agent she’s been crushing on for years—both skilled adaptors—step in to help, but their priority is, annoyingly, keeping her safe. Before long, Ciel is dedicating more energy to escaping their watchful eyes than she is to saving her client’s intended.

Suddenly, facing down a horde of Vikings feels like the least of her problems.

When I was sent the description for this one, I knew I just had to review it. Doesn't it sound awesome?

I was able to get my hands on some fabulous books this week! I can honestly say I am excited about every single one of these :)

Ashen Winter (Ashfall #2) by Mike Mullin

It’s been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. Alex and Darla have been staying with Alex’s relatives, trying to cope with the new reality of the primitive world so vividly portrayed in Ashfall, the first book in this series. In case you don't remember, I LOVED Ashfall. When I saw that this was on netgalley I seriously did a little happy dance. I cannot wait to dive into this one :)

I've heard great things about this one and I think the synopsis sounds amazing - sort of like a Butterfly effect thing.At any rate, it sounds like a great read.

And let's talk about that cover for a minute. I know you aren't supposed to judge a book by it's cover... but come on. It's simultaneously lovely and creepy.

I don't know too much about this one, except what I've got from the synopsis - it's about a young girl, it takes place in New Orleans and it's got some sort of Supernatural twist. I'm  betting something about a bird - hence the bird on the cover. But I really have no idea. Anyways... this one definitely sounds like it's right up my alley.

So, as you can see... I've started blogging again. I finally have some free time in my schedule and I am delighted to be back with you guys. So without further ado.. here is what I picked up this week. I went a little crazy at the library - I picked up a number of books that I've been meaning to read for a while. I got a tad bit carried away.

I know I've been MIA for the past few weeks, but I've finally finished with the semester. I've turned in all of my finals and projects and now I have some free time to focus on blogging. We still have a lot going on with my sisters Wedding (she's getting married on New Years Eve) but I will have time to read & review again. I've also got a few blog tours scheduled for this upcoming week, so please stop by to check those out!

I only received one book this week and it was a surprise. I haven't really had the chance to catch up on all of my requests and emails, which is good because I am running a bit behind. 

 

 

But the lovely folks over at PYR books (honestly, they are amazing) sent me a review copy of Thief's Covenant by Ari Marmell.

 

 

 

 

She is Widdershins, a thief making her way through Davillon's underbelly looking to find answers, and justice with a sharp blade, a sharper wit, and the mystical aid of Olgun, a foreign god with no other worshipers but Widdershins herself.

I had another great week in the book world :) On Tuesday, I went to yet another book signing at Schuler's. I LOVE that store. This time I got to see Kim Harrison. She is quite possibly the cutest thing ever. I also got to hang out with Allie & Lexi - which was a blast.

 

 

 

Anyways, I got my Madison Avery books signed and she also gave us these Rachel Morgan "press badges". Oh and they also gave out paperback copies of Once Dead,Twice Shy. Isn't that awesome? 

 

I also got a few books in the mail this week. Alexis over at Tor sent me an ARC of  Article 5 by Kristen Simmons and the first two books in the As the World Dies series by Rhiannon Frater. The First Days released last year and Fighting to Survive is coming out in November. Thanks Alexis!
