Have your reading choices changed over the years? Or pretty much stayed the same? (And yes, from childhood to adulthood we usually read different things, but some people stick to basically the same kind of book their entire lives, so…)
Oh, yes my reading tastes have changed over the years. When I was a child I read mostly young adult lit and sometimes contemporary literature; but never science fiction or straight fantasy. As I got older, I progressed into young adult fantasy. Only recently did I branch out to Adult Urban Fantasy and Science Fiction. In fact, my first Adult Urban Fantasy book was Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep.

Interesting journey. I hope you'll at least dip your toe into the world of sci-fi. There's a lot of to love there. Books by Alfred Bester or an entry level Philip K. Dick novel (for example, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is a good starting point) are highly recommended. I am not sure I'd say to jump into Heinlein right away. He's a bit of an acquired taste.
I started reading goosebumps and R.L. Stine when I was a child then switched to books by authors like Stephan King and Dean Koontz. Now I mostly read paranormal romance, historical fiction and fantasy.
As a child I had no set kinds of books I read, infact I did not enjoy reading much growing up. As an adult though I've loved reading and my choices have changed a lot.
I used to read all kinds of books as a kid, but now I mainly read fiction.
