Question..

“When did you realize reading was your passion and a truly important part of your life?”

I am not really sure that I remember when I realized that reading was a passion, but I do remember the book that got me started. I remember when my fourth grade teacher read us Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone during study hall. I instantly fell in love. I seriously doubt I would have ever jumped on the Harry Potter train by myself, so I am glad I had it forced upon me. That book is what got me checking out books from the school library and begging for trips to Barnes and Noble. I think this is why I get so upset when people try to keep Harry Potter out of schools, because those books are what really got me reading. I know they got tons of people excited about reading. It's a shame that others can't see that.

I also participate in Follow Friday, so those of you who popped by from that, thank you - and thank you parajunkee for hosting it!

This Week's Follow Friday Question is..

In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as Midsummer...let's talk about fairies. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around the fae?

Honestly, I am not that big on faeries. I don't know why, I just have a hard time getting into them I guess. That being said, I do have a favorite. It would have to be Blood Faerie by India Drummond {My Review}.

I've read very few books about faeries so I'm not sure I have a preference one way or the other.

I'm glad a children's book series managed to get kids interested in reading in THIS day & age. HP is a miracle! If only there was something like that when I was a kid...

Hi Sarah! Old follower hopping by from FF. I have to tell you I'm a little jealous! I never had a teacher give me anything as cool as Harry Potter to read!

Hi, there! Here from the Hop. :)

As a 40-year-old Potter fan, I can't imaging how cool it must have been to have grown up with those books. You are so lucky! You also remind me of afternoons listening to our school librarian reading to us during story hour. Good times. ;)

Hopping through. I read the first Harry Potter book in 2000 when I was in college (I'm much older than you apparently :-) ). I got really into fantasy because of it.
