Destination Bookish: New York City with Dash & Lily's Book of Dares

This week we are stopping in the dazzling New York City with Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan. Aren't you excited? Break out your I love New York t-shirt because here we go!

The Strand Bookstore
You cannot have a Dash & Lily's tour without including the world famous Bookstore, The Strand. This is where our story begins and ends - it's where Dash finds Lily's red book with the first dare.

Tompkins Square Park
This is the park that Lily normally walks the dogs in. She goes there a few different times during the book to play with the dogs. It is also the park where she first runs into Edgar Thibuad.

 FAO Schwarz
Dash sends Lily to the Make Your Own Muppet workshop at this world famous toy store to return the notebook. He arranges for Lily to have a solo workshop session where she makes a "Snarl" inspired muppet.

Washington Square Park
This park is where Dash finds Lily; it's the second time they meet. I'm sure you remember this park, after all, it is a scene of a crime. The duo gets arrested here.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Lily sends Dash to Madame Tussauds and it is where he figures out what he wants for Christmas - the Unabridged Oxford English Dictionary.

Macy's
Our final stop on the tour is the Manhattan Macy's. Lily sends Dash to this Macy's two days before Christmas. He is less than thrilled. She hides notes for Dash around the store, the final note being a dare - to ask Santa for his next message. Again, Dash is not to wild about this idea. I on the other hand, loved it.
