Book Blogger Hop

This week's Questions is...

"Pick a character from a book you are currently reading or have just finished and tell us about him/her."

Well, I will tell you a bit about Hansum from The Lens and The Looker by Lory Kaufman. Hansum is a seventeen year old boy from the 24th century who gets transported back in time to Verona, Italy in the year 1347. He begins as an arrogant character who, that never thinks about the consequences of his actions. When he gets stuck in Verona, he is forced to change his attitude and ways to survive. I am almost finished with the book and so far, I've found it quite enjoyable :)

I also participate in Follow Friday, so those of you who popped by from that, thank you - and thank you parajunkee for hosting it!

This Week's Follow Friday Question is..

Do you have anyone that you can discuss books with IRL? Tell us about him/her.

Well, I it really depends on the book. I have a few friends who I might be able to hoist a book on - but I don't know anyone who is as obsessive as I am. My Grandma and Dad both read a lot; but again, they only read certain kinds of books. My grandma loves mysteries and my dad enjoys hardcore science fiction and fantasy. He is also always down for a Tom Clancy book... which I have never read lol.

I did get my love for reading from my mom but she doesn't read too much of what I do and my dad loves westerns but my best friend and my niece who I discuss the most with about books.

Happy Weekend!

Hopping through. Like you, my dad (and my mother) read a lot. We have some books in common, but not most of my YA books.

I don't know anyone who is as obsessed or as enthusiastic about books as I am either. My parents think I'm crazy, and my friends read but they have completely different tastes to me. They prefer adult books, whereas I'm more for YA!

It's the same here. I have a few friends and family members that I can chat with about books, but no one is nearly obsessed as I am!

I have also had trouble finding a reading friend for my favorite genres. My mother is my main reading companion but she won't touch some of my favorite genres like historical romance and YA.

I'm your newest follower :)

Hopping through. Hansum from The Lens and The Looker sounds like an interesting character - I do like some character growth in novels so glad to hear about this character's changes as the story develops.
