This Week's Follow Friday Question is..
Well, of course I would love to say no - but if I am being honest, YES. I mean, come on, it's practically impossible not too. There are so many books in the world and the ones that draw your eye are going to be the first ones you pay attention to. I have to give a shout out to my all time favorite cover artist - Dan Dos Santos - I love every cover the guy has ever made. I didn't even realize I was a fan until I started flipping through my collection and the majority of my urban fantasy/fantasy/science fiction paperbacks were all designed by him :)

I love pretty book covers! That's the first thing I look for when I go book shopping. :)
book covers are definitely the first things I look at. :)

Hmmm... I'm not sure there's many people who see a really boring or cheesy book cover and think, "ooohh, now there's something I want to read!" Haha, I judge those covers too-- I was telling another blogger earlier though, that it makes me feel bad for writers who are just starting out and don't have money to get awesome covers and so not many people read their books :(
I will check out books if I have seen other good reviews for them, even if the cover isn't anything special. Sometimes it's definitely worth it!
Nice meeting you, this is my first Follow me Friday :) Have a great weekend!
Hopping through. How cool that you even know the name of a cover artist. I only know of the artist for the Harry Potter books.

I think it is great that you notice who designed the books. It's probably an under-appreciated job. But I agree, everyone probably judges a book by its cover to some extent.
So I had to check out the guy you mentioned and WOW, love his stuff! Also recognized a couple covers too. Covers are definitely an added bonus to an already good book.
Have a great weekend!

I love Chris Riddell, who designed the Edge Chronicles books. I've bought a book randomly before just because his artwork was on it...
Actually, make that three books...

Hi Sarah,
Old follower here!
For me, it is the cover and the title that tempt me to read the blurb. If the blurb reads great, I'll grab the book. I remember the first time I saw Harry Potter's book covers, I was like, O_o...not sure if I liked them. Love the inside but the covers weren't really to my tastes.
Happy Follow Friday!!!

Just hopping by. If I know a book is going to be great, I could care less what the cover looks like, but if I'm just browsing around a bookstore, I am definitely drawn to books with beautiful covers
Check out my Follow Friday Post and some of my favorite cover designs.
I agree, It's the first thing that catches your eye.
stop and see mine and my giveaways.
It's real hard not judging by the covers, yes! You need something that can get you interested in reading more, which is what the cover does. I wouldn't buy a pretty book without thinking I'd like the story though!
My FF can be found here!
Btw, you have a really nice blog! I'm a new follower. :)
Hi, new follower!
I try not to look at them... but I do!
Have a great weekend.

covers are what usually attract me to a book if I am just browsing, I'm a sucker for a pretty cover lol. New follower coming through from the Hop =o)
A pretty cover will atleast get a book picked up! I'm already a follower! My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews
The cover catches my eye, the author and synopsis are also very important to me as a reader and potential book buyer. Good reviews and recommendations from people I know play an important role in making a book selection.

I agree about the covers, and what others have said about the synopsis too :)
