Waiting on Wednesday: Touch of Frost

Waiting on Wednesday is hosting by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Book: Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy #1) - Jennifer Estep
Release Date: July 26th, 2011
Genre: Young Adult
Publisher:  Kensington Publishing Corporation
Description:
My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy — a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody’s head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.

But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I’m determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why – especially since I should have been the one who died..

I love Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassin series and I cannot wait to see what she does with a young adult book. On her website, Jennifer says that she was inspired by the movie 300 and the TV show Veronica Mars. Now, hold the phone everybody - she had me hooked right there. A mixture of the crazy ass Spartans the my favorite female television character of all time.. sounds epic to me :) You can read the first two chapter of Touch of Frost at Jennifer's website.

I haven't read any of Jennifer's books but this one sounds really really gorgeous. And that summary's definitely intriguing. Great WoW pick! I had this book featured on my own WoW a few weeks ago. :)

Here's my WoW picks for the week

This sounds like it will have a really fun voice to read while solving the mystery. I have never read anything by this author, but I am now tempted to try. Thanks for brining her to my attention.

Jennifer Estep is totally awesome anyway, but the idea that she's decided to write a book that's inspired by Veronica Mars and 300? That's, like, a dream come true. This is one author I'm SO glad decided to write YA.
