Cover Art: River Marked by Patricia Briggs

Patricia Briggs has just released the cover art for the next Mercy Thompson book, River Marked (Mercy Thompson #6). Isn't it gorgeous? I think it is my favorite one yet. I cannot wait for it to be released in January!

Book Discription (From Goodreads):  Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She’s never known any others of her kind. Until now.

An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River—one that her father’s people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help…

Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

Oh that's an easy question. My favorite discovery this year is Patricia Briggs. I read Moon Called after seeing ARC review of Silver Borne on, I believe, The Book Smugglers. I plowed right through the Mercy Thompson series and bought Silver Borne the day it came out. Then, I moved on to the Alpha Omega series by Briggs. I just love her writing - everything flows beautifully and all her characters are very dimensional. Plus, the woman definitely knows how to write a kick-butt heroine.

Oh, and FYI - She is re-releasing a new version of Masques, the first book in Sianim series (October) and then releasing a new sequel, Wolfsbane in November. If you haven't read any Briggs books, do yourself a favor and pick up Moon Called. You will not regret it!
