This week's Questions is...
"Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"
Well, I don't really read a specific genre. I just read books that sound interesting to me. That being said, I do read a lot of young adult fiction and urban fantasy books. I would say that I read young adult fiction, because its easy to relate to. Everyone can connect to what most characters go through in these books, therefore it makes them easy to relate to. I guess I read urban fantasy because it's exciting. I love the adventures the characters go on and how different the worlds are. "Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"
I also participate in Follow Friday, so those of you who popped by from that, thank you - and thank you parajunkee for hosting it!

Just hopping through... I too immerse myself in the YA books - and you're right - we've all been in some of these protagonist's shoes at one time or another. I especially enjoy losing myself in some of these wonderful worlds that the YA authors are able to create.

I don't have a specific genre either. I read more than one genre. But there are a few genres I don't read. Come see what I do and don't read.
Hi,
Just hopping by and following through. I read a eclectic mix of genres though I do have favourites.
I posted a pic of our pet - come and see!

have a good weekend!
Hi, Found you through the blog hopper, new follower. I love your answer, that's the main reason why I read YA.
Hey Sarah! Old follower. Happy Friday and have a great weekend :)
I do read a lot, and as a librarian, I try to get a smattering of lots of different genres so that I can speak intelligently about book choices with my patrons, but I do find myself coming back to YA and science-fiction and fantasy in particular for a lot of the same reasons that you describe. It's a great "break" from the real-world -- although, the best books still have characters that are totally relateable, so it makes you see the world in a different way.
Hey Just Hopping Through!
My answer was pretty similar - being not much older than a teenager I relate to YA fiction more than any other genre although I do read books from a few different genres as well.
Have a great weekend!
As an eclectic reader, I favor a lot of genres. :) You can read my answer at Clandestine Sanctuary. Have a great weekend!
I agree - YA is really accessable for pretty much everyone and urban fantasy is just such a great escape.
Happy Hop Day!

Hopping by. True that YA is easy to relate to and a connection is easily established. I love that. :) Have a nice weekend!
I read mostly Young Adult and Historical fiction but I don't limit myself. If it looks interesting, I'll read it.
This is my first hop!
