Waiting on Wednesday: Invisible Things

Waiting on Wednesday is a Weekly Meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Book:
Invisible Things by Jenny Davidson
Release Date: November 23rd, 2010
Publisher: HarperTeen
Genre:Young Adult
Goodreads Description:
In an alternate 1930s Europe, sixteen-year-old Sophie and Mikael, now more than a friend, investigate her parents' death, setting off a chain of events that unravels everything she thought she knew about her family, and involving them in international intrigue and the development of the atomic bomb.

I have always loved young adult romantic/adventure stories, and this one sounds extremely intriguing. I love that it takes place in 1930's Europe, I think that makes an awesome setting -- I love time period books! Plus, the cover is gorgeous, isn't it?

Ah! I saw this book for the first time a few days ago, although I don't remember where, and I'm very excited for it! Great pick - I love the time period, and the cover is very pretty.

Kind of along the same lines as yours, as I too am waiting for a 1920s/1930s historical fiction book :)

This novel does look interesting although I am hoping for a longer description soon so I can really get a sense for what this novel is about. That being said, the cover is gorgeous and I think a 1930's "road trip" would be really fun! Great pick.

I've seen this one around and am still debating... mostly (and I know this is horrible) because I don't care for the cover... the photo looks out of focus... it's a dumb reason... I know...

I just realised I haven't read much of 1930s-1940s based YA. Or any other genre for that matter! Great pick here.

Oo wow. The fact that they help lead to the creation of the atomic bomb is totally fascinating. I love when fact and fiction collide like that. This sounds like a really great book, and one I might not have stumbled across otherwise. Thanks for sharing!
